Sweet potatoes are one of the most nutritious and tasty vegetables you can eat! You can enjoy this recipe as-is, or jazz it up by adding in 1/4 cup maple syrup or 1 chipotle in adobo sauce. Try serving with Creole Meatloves with Trinity Gravy.

This dish was served in over 1600 New York City school's as part of Yum-o!'s collaboration with the New York City Department of Education's Office of SchoolFood!

Go Healthy Month Reaches Nearly 100,000 Kids

In September, Yum-o!'s partner, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, celebrated their second annual Go Healthy Month! With its efforts focused on preventing childhood obesity and creating healthier lifestyles for all children, the Alliance has designated the month of September as Go Healthy Month as an opportunity to engage, educate and activate kids across the nation to motivate themselves, their peers, family members, school communities and others to increase their healthy eating and physical activity.

Farmers' Market Finders

A great way to get excited about cooking is to visit your local farmers' market, where you'll find in-season produce and the freshest meats, breads and cheeses. You can even talk to the farmers about all the different varieties of the items they are selling and ask how they are grown or made. And it's always fun to pick out a few different kinds of fruits and veggies for a "taste test" when you get back home!
