Burpee "I Can Grow"

April 15, 2013  •

“I Can Grow” is a national campaign from Burpee Home Gardens® that supports and encourages home vegetable gardening among younger and novice gardeners. As a whole new generation of gardeners looks for fresher, more nutritious food and feels the need to connect with their community and nurture their environmental responsibility, this program provides a variety of resources to be successful gardeners.

Educators can learn about developing and sustaining youth garden programs through a free “I Can Grow” Guide and Youth Garden Curriculum Activities, developed by Burpee and the National Gardening Association. Meanwhile, home gardeners can download a free Garden Fresh gardening guide, full of inspiration and information for growing home vegetable gardens.

To showcase these ideas and provide immediate access to fresh food and vegetable plants in areas across the country with limited access to fresh produce, Burpee Home Gardens launched their “Grow Anywhere Tour” in 2013. Over the course of visiting 23 cities nationwide, the Burpee Truck will give away 30,000 pounds of fresh vegetables and 13,000 vegetable plants to encourage long-lasting, healthy eating habits.

Visit the Burpee Home Gardens “I Can Grow” website to learn how this program is sharing food now and for the long term – and when they may be visiting your community!
