This is a great recipe to make as a surprise for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day breakfast or brunch (with the help of another grown-up helper)!
This sweet breakfast tastes delicious all year round, but it’s easy enough for kids to make (with just a little help from a grown-up helper!) for a special breakfast-in-bed treat for Mom or Dad.
This menu is perfect for a Salad and Sammie Night!
Rachael says, "In this recipe, all the flavors of sweet Italian sausage – fennel, garlic and cheese – get combined with sweet smothered onions and are piled on top of lean pork loin chops. My mom’s simple roasted peppers seemed the right side for this meal. If you like sausage, pepper and onion subs at the ballpark or at street fairs, this meal is for you!"
Rachael says, “I made this when Wayne Brady came by the show. He was so funny I could not speak! I do not think one person heard the recipe, so here it is, written down. He loved the Joes. Maybe we should call ‘em Sloppy Waynes. Nah. He dresses too spiffy for that name to stick!”
In Denmark, little open-faced sandwiches (that means they have no tops on them) are lunchtime and snack time favorites of kids and grown-ups alike! Try a mix-n-match of these three sammies and your box will rock – Danish-style!
Heads up: some schools don’t allow PB & J anymore in the lunch rooms because some kids are super allergic to nuts. Check on it and have this lunch at home or school accordingly.
For a thermos that rocks, try this soup!
I made this for my 6-year-old friend Matthew. He visited me on the show and is severly allergic to dairy and peanut butter. But he sure likes this burger, so I thought I would share it with you.
I made this when first lady Laura Bush stopped by the show. This is a heart-healthy recipe, although I used white bread instead of wheat bread. But you can use the whole wheat white bread that is now available just as well! –RR
Cecilia likes to make this healthy dish with her 14-month-old son, Joe, who already loves to eat all kinds of food!
