Dinner

Here's a collection of recipes from Rachael Ray and friends for kids of all ages to make. Search for your favorite or use the tabs below. Remember, as we say here at Yum-o!, there's no such thing as too many cooks in the kitchen!

Inside-Out Turkey Bacon Cheese Burgers with Oven O-Rings

Serves 4

Rachael says, "I made this for my friend Valerie Bertinelli, who is watching her figure but still cooking for her teenage rockstar son. This one deserves an encore! You’ll make it twice a week."

Pasta with Tomato Raw Sauce

Serves 4

Now, it doesn’t get any easier than this! This recipe is just about as easy as opening a jar of sauce: you chop up a few ingredients and don’t even need to cook them! The heat from the cooked pasta warms them through.

Eat-Your-Veggies Harvest Vegetable Whole Wheat Pasta

Serves 6

Whether you have a garden or just a great farmers’ market in town, this dish really celebrates the flavor and goodness of vegetables. This hearty meal really tastes too good to be so good for you.

Buffalo Chicken Chili

Serves 6, or 4 with some leftovers

This was the #1 downloaded recipe from the first 180 episodes of season one of Rachael Ray, Rachael’s syndicated daytime show. It really is too-good-to-be-good-for-you!

Peeler Salad

Serves 4

Have your kids help with dinner tonight. All they need is a vegetable peeler!

Peanut Butter Sesame Noodles

Serves 1-2 (kid size servings)

These noodles make for a speedy meal with an Asian flair. We like using whole wheat pasta for added flavor and tossing in some veggies for crunch.

“Everything” Chicken Tenders

Serves 4

This is a little riff on the everything bagel. We’ve coated chicken tenders in “everything” crust and baked them, and have a little scallion cream cheese sauce for dipping on the side.

Herb-Roasted Oven Fries

Serves 4-6

A healthy alternative to french fries, these taters are oven roasted.

Open-Face Turkey Burgers on Molasses BBQ-Soaked Texas Toast

Serves 4

I made this when first lady Laura Bush stopped by the show. This is a heart-healthy recipe, although I used white bread instead of wheat bread. But you can use the whole wheat white bread that is now available just as well! –RR

Lemon Poppy Chicken with Sweet Pea and Mint Couscous

Serves 4

This is a really tasty quick meal that you can easily prepare in under thirty minutes. The poppy seeds look like little polka dots. Yum-o!

Orange Cashew Chicken Stir Fry

Serves 4

This stir fry is an excellent way to jazz up chicken breasts!

Pizza Burger

Serves 4

I made this for my 6-year-old friend Matthew. He visited me on the show and is severly allergic to dairy and peanut butter. But he sure likes this burger, so I thought I would share it with you.

Get Your Greens Pesto Salad

Serves 4

This salad uses summer veggies but can also be made all year round; if you can’t find asparagus, use steamed broccoli instead. This makes a great side dish for a barbecue, or a main dish with some crusty bread and a tomato salad. Rosemary adds, "My four-year-old helps me make this by sampling the asparagus and pine nuts and stirring everything together when done."

My Great-Grandmother’s Chicken Cutlets

Serves 4

Sherri remembers making chicken cutlets and other homeade favorites with her grandmother and her father, both great cooks! This is a classic chicken dish.

Veal Scallopini with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes

Serves 4

Nina is only 13 years old, but she sent us this luscious recipe that she loves to make with her dad. It’s a full meal!
